• What is a gray market tractor?
Tractors built for use in one country, but imported and used in another are gray market tractors. It is neither illegal nor unethical to import tractors that have previously been used in another country.
• What should I look for in a gray market tractor?
Decide what will be some of the primary uses that you will use your tractor for. This will help determine what horsepower and size implements you will need. Do you need 4WD? How much will I use a loader? Landscaping, hauling materials or firewood, lifting logs onto a sawmill? Other considerations may be-transmission type, number of engine cylinders, height & width to get through barn doors easily or weight for easy transport.
• What and where is the guarantee?
The tractors that we offer have been refurbished here, in our own shop and are brought up to high usability standards such as a good quality seat, battery, belts, hoses, tires, 3-pt hitch, standard PTO, with new air and lubrication filters, new trans-hydraulic oil, new engine oil, new gear oil and a flushed radiator with new electrolysis prohibiting antifreeze withstanding –40 F. The tractors are cleaned and checked for leaking seals, brakes and clutch adjustment, paint is applied if needed These tractors are used, “refurbished” units, not “restored” to new condition, therefore, we back our tractors with quality service to protect our reputation and to offer the lowest in-state prices of comparable units.
Refurbishing Process
• Belts and hoses are checked and replaced if necessary.
• New filters are installed and all new fluids added. Batteries are replaced with new ones.
• Radiators are back flushed and a cooling system electrolysis inhibitor is added to the antifreeze if needed.
• Tractors are checked for possible problems such as overheating, electrical, lights, steering, brakes, clutch play, PTO, 3-pt operation and fluid leakage. The tractor is test-driven. Any problems that are detected are repaired.
• Some tractors are sanded and painted, some simply look good in their “everyday clothes” then new warning decals are applied.
